Add this red, white and blue sweet treat to your 4th of July celebration! It’s festive, yummy and made with a delicious homemade marshmallow fluff.

Ingredients

For the berry toast

  • 1 slice bread, toasted
  • 1 peanut butter
  • fresh strawberries
  • fresh blueberries
  • marshmallow fluff

For the homemade marshmallow fluff

  • 2 egg whites
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

For the berry toast

  • Toast a piece of bread and layer it with peanut butter. Then add your homemade marshmallow fluff and fresh berries.

For the homemade marshmallow fluff

  • With a hand mixer, begin beating egg whites to soft peaks. Add in the lemon juice once the peaks begin to form. 
  • In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water and vanilla and bring to a boil.
  • Turn mixer back on low speed, and slowly drizzle the hot syrup into the egg whites.
  • Turn speed up to medium-high, and beat until the egg whites cool down to room temperature.
  • Serve immediately or store refrigerated for a couple days. This keeps well!
