Your kids are going to love these fun and festive snowman sandwiches! Ordinary sandwiches turned into snowmen accompanied by fresh fruit and and winter treats makes this one snowtastically balanced school lunch.

While I love the winter and all the fun it brings, I also become increasingly tired of the mundane day-to-day routine that usually comes with little access to sunlight.

Let this balanced snowman sandwich school lunchbox brighten your day; it sure did mine!

You can make the complete lunchbox or just skip right to the snowman sandwiches. These are easy to throw together after a fun day in the snow or for a fun school lunch to brighten your little one’s day.

Why prep lunches for school?

To make meal planning more consistent and practical in my house, I aim to include four school lunch preps for my two kids in our weekly meal prep rotation. This helps us save money and ensure that two days of the week, the kids have well balanced meals that happen to be fun and festive, yet simple enough to put together in less than 15 minutes.

In these lunch preps I try to include a variety of colors as well as a good balance of the essential food groups so that my kids are getting exposure to different foods in a fun and exciting way!

Ingredients for snowman sandwich lunchbox

To make this fun and delicious snowman sandwiches school lunch meal prep, you’ll need a few ingredients that you can get at almost any grocery store or even online!

This will make 4 lunchbox containers. I love these 3 compartment food containers that I found on Amazon!

Here’s what we are working with:

How to make snowman sandwich lunchbox

  1. Stack two pieces of bread together. Using the edge of a glass or a circle cookie cutter, create the snowman’s head. Place turkey and cheese slices inside (you may have to fold the slices to fit) and close.
  2. Using an edible marker, draw the snowman’s eyes and smile.
  3. Cut-off a small triangular piece of carrot and place it in the middle for the snowman’s nose. **I attached mine with a toothpick so that everything is held into place. Place the completed snowman into the main compartment of the lunchbox.
  4. Place a strawberry on top for the snowman’s hat and two pretzel sticks inside both sides of the bread for the snowman’s arms.
  5. Place the popcorn all around to create the snow.
  6. In one side compartment add grapes and an orange slice.
  7. In the other side compartment add your preferred sweet treat; I used Kellogg’s Froot Loops Sweethearts Cereal.

We sure hope you enjoy this fun and balanced snowman sandwich school lunch meal prep as much as our little tribe has!
