Cheese quesadilla turned into a sailboat accompanied by blue pasta, this fun and yummy lunch has all your little’s favorites on one SEAtastic plate!

One of my top favorite reasons I love being home with my kids for the summer is having the ability to create fun food art! As a teacher during the school year, I always wish I had more time to spend cooking and making food fun for my son and daughter.

I created this sailboat quesadilla food art lunch because it combines the two things my kids go crazy for: cheese quesadillas and buttered noodles! We love making this fun food art lunch because it is easy to make and delicious to eat. This sailboat lunch is a a guaranteed favorite for little ones.

  • shredded cheddar cheese

How to make sailboat food art lunch

  1. Sprinkle shredded cheese over a jumbo tortilla. Fold in half and cook in air fryer at 400 degrees for 2-3 minutes. If making in a skillet, you want the cheese to be melted and tortilla slightly golden.

  3. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Add 1-2 tablespoons of butter directly to the pot after draining the pasta; let cool for 2-3 minutes and the gradually add and brush in a few drops of blue food coloring.
  4. On a plate place blue pasta and quesadilla boat parts. Decorate with sliced cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced pickle or cucumber, cheddar cheese slice cut-outs to resemble a sailboat. Add an orange slice for the sun.
