This healthier and dairy-free easy banana pudding recipe is southern comfort with a healthy twist! Having lived in North Carolina for many years, banana pudding holds a special place in my heart. It always reminds me of warm southern hospitality and family gatherings.

I wanted to recreate this classic southern dessert in a healthier and dairy-free version that I can enjoy guilt-free and share with my family. With a few simple swaps and healthier ingredients, this recipe captures the essence of traditional banana pudding while being refined sugar-free and dairy-free.

This banana pudding recipe has become a favorite in our household. It’s a remind of the warmth and nostalgia of southern cuisine while fitting our family’s healthier lifestyle.

To make this easy and delicious healthy banana pudding recipe you’ll need 5 simple ingredients that you can get at almost any grocery store or even online!

Here’s what we are working with:

  • ripe bananas
  • full-fat coconut milk
  • vanilla bean cashew milk yogurt
  • sugar-free maple syrup
  • vanilla almond butter granola

how to make healthy banana pudding

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine coconut milk, vanilla bean cashew milk yogurt, and sugar-free maple syrup. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Layer sliced bananas at the bottom of individual serving jars or a large dish.
  3. Pour a generous layer of the coconut milk mixture over the bananas.
  4. Sprinkle granola on top.
  5. Repeat layers until the jars or dish are filled, ending with a sprinkle of granola on top.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour to allow the flavors to meld and the pudding to set; Serve with dairy-free whipped cream if desired.
