Take lunchtime to a new level with these cheese-filled shamrock raviolis smothered in the nutty aroma and deliciousness of browned butter with a pinch of festive green and served with fresh fruit and lucky charms cereal.

Ingredients

1 package Traditional 5 Cheese Shamrock Raviolis (I found these at Costco), butter, cotton candy grapes, strawberries, Lucky Charms cereal.

Optional: heart shaped food-cutters, 1-2 drops of green natural food coloring

Directions

1. Start by cooking raviolis. You will want to cook according to package directions, about 3-4 minutes and be sure to not over boil the raviolis. **You can substitute just about any other pasta for this and add a few drops of green food coloring after draining the pasta along with olive oil for a greenish color.

2. Make the green brown butter sauce; Heat a thick-bottomed skillet on medium heat. Add about a stick of butter (if you slice it, it will melt more evenly) whisking frequently. Continue to cook the butter. You will want to add a drop or two of the green food coloring, if using, to the mix right before the butter starts to foam. Once melted the butter will foam up a bit, then subside and remove immediately from heat. Smell the butter; it should have a nutty aroma when it is done.

3. Place cooked raviolis into the main compartment of the lunch box and drizzle the butter over top (you will most likely have leftover brown butter which saves well!) You can choose to add grated parmesan cheese on top.

4. Make strawberry heart cut-outs if using. I used 3 large strawberries. Place them along with the cotton candy grapes into one of the side compartments.

5. Add Lucky Charms Cereal or your little one’s favorite snack option to the other compartment.

How to store Shamrock Raviolis with a Green Butter Sauce

You can make this design on a plate or for easy on-the-go travel, secure everything in place with toothpicks. Additionally, cover each compartment with tin foil. For the main compartment, add a ball of tin foil to the middle between ingredients and lid for extra hold.
