This spooky flatbread pizza is the perfect dinner leading up to Halloween or a fun and festive lunchbox idea. It’s quick, easy to make, and a SPOOKtacular crowd-pleaser.

One of Kyle’s and my favorite low-key things to do when we were first dating was have a Friday night make-your-own-pizza night. Somewhat of a competition, we would prepare our own individual and unique toppings of choice and then have a sampling of both to determine a winner.

This fun and festive version of our beloved pizza night that we now make with our kids leading up to Halloween has to be one of our favorite toppings ever! Saucy marinara, gooey mozzarella and cheddar cheese, black olives turned into spiders, and mini pepperonis–we are talking about any child’s dream pizza during this fun and spooky season!

The best part for me is seeing our kids being so involved in the pizza making process! They love creating their own versions of spooky pizza. Whoever knew that pizza art could be so fun thanks to ghost cookie cutters and black olive spiders? Also, a huge shoutout to flatbread pizza (and Aldi because they have a great one that comes in a pack of two!)

So, if you’re a busy mom like me, craving the nostalgia of pizza nights while also cherishing the special times that holidays bring with young children, this fun and spooky flatbread pizza has your name written all over it!

ingredients

To make this easy and delicious spooky halloween flatbread pizza recipe you’ll need a few ingredients that you can get at almost any grocery store or even online!

Here’s what we are working with:

  • store-bought flatbread – you can opt to make your own homemade flatbread for this recipe. I prefer the store-bought flatbreads for ease. Aldi has great ones and they come in a pack of two!
  • marinara or pizza sauce
  • whole black olives
  • mini pepperonis
  • mozzarella cheese slices
  • orange cheddar cheese slices
  • fresh basil leaves

how to make spooky halloween flatbread pizza

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Prepare your cut-outs if using them; Using cookie cutters, cut out ghosts from the mozzarella cheese slices, pumpkins from the orange cheddar cheese slices. Slice the olives in half. One half will be the spider’s body and then cut the other half into 8 thin slices for the spider’s legs.

Spread the marinara or pizza sauce over the flatbread pizza. Place mini pepperonis on top and create a few spider olives placed throughout the pizza. Bake in oven for 10 minutes.

Remove pizza from oven and carefully place the cheese cut-outs throughout the flatbread pizza. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Place back into oven and bake for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the cheese has just melted.

Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve.
