What is Tuscan Chicken?

I’ll admit it. I did a little research on understanding exactly what and where this popular dish that I’ve been making for so long originated. Tuscan style cuisine is a hearty Italian-inspired dish traditionally made with sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and creamy sauces like alfredo or parmesan. The dish is a beloved one for its satisfying combination of flavors and textures, and has become a staple for families looking to explore new cuisines or seek comfort in wholesome, robust dishes.

Our family seriously cannot get enough of a tuscan style dish because we are talking healthy and delicious at the same time. Is there a better combo? Many variations of this yummy dish exist, however this recipe that uses coconut milk as an alternative to cream is by far our favorite.

Let’s get started on this easy and healthy recipe for tuscan chicken!

  8. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the chicken. Serve immediately.

What to serve with creamy tuscan chicken

This tuscan chicken is a very versatile dish that can be paired with a variety of sides depending on your preferences. Here is what we love to serve with this dish:

  • Pasta– You can never go wrong with a side of pasta. Classic Italian pasta noodles like fettuccine, linguine or spaghetti are all great choices. Simply toss them with some olive oil and herbs for an extra flavor boost.
  • Vegetables– Tuscan chicken pairs really well with grilled, roasted or sautéed vegetables. Some of our favorites are zucchini, bell peppers, asparagus, and broccoli.
  • Bread– A side of crusty bread is the perfect compliment. Garlic bread is an excellent choice to soak up and add in an extra level of deliciousness.
  • Salad– A fresh salad with mixed greens, cucumber and tomato would be a refreshing option to serve with this hearty dish.
  • Potatoes– Roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes or even sweet potatoes would complement the flavors of tuscan chicken.

Can I meal prep this recipe?

Absolutely! Tuscan chicken can be easily meal prepped, and it actually tastes better when reheated because the flavors have more time to meld together. Meal prepping tuscan chicken is a great way to save yourself precious time during busy weeks and ensure that you have a wholesome and satisfying meal ready to go whenever you need it.
